   Vreni Barilier
The painter Vreni Barilier, tirelessly in search of new techniques and pictorial textures, proposes a series of works inspired by nature and the effects of time.
It is a stony, rocky, architectural nature with structured and relief areas, composed of sometimes mountainous or aquatic sequences, cliffs altering under the effects of bad weather, climate change or the consequences of the passage of time.

Erosion, dissolution, disappearance, dust carried by the winds of the desert, volcanic breaths, large spaces in a state of metamorphosis, - such as the ice of the Far North or the South Pole plunging into frozen waters - these different phenomena are among the concerns of the artist and illustrate his words with, in the process, his share of burning questions.

Sometimes the eye is attracted by traces, perhaps created by the passage of the human, which is nevertheless absent from the works of Vreni Barilier. She is almost exclusively interested in natural elements in their purest expression and attempts, through her works, to draw attention to the fragility of the environment in which we evolve. But an inevitable process is now hitting the different continents and leaving the observer speechless. The artist, with his heightened sensitivity, echoes this and communicates, through his works, poetry, anguish, determination, but also hope and beauty and delivers us, with his "Footprints of Time" a deep and relevant reflection, on crucial issues. An encounter with exciting works not to be missed!

Vreni Barilier lives and works in Payerne. She exhibits regularly in Switzerland and abroad, in groups or individually. In 2005, Audience Prize and Montmartre Prize during a collective exhibition at the European Academy of Arts in Paris; in Gembloux (Belgium), gold medal in 2006. The City of Payerne acquired one of his works in 2012. Vreni Barilier taught painting in his studio for many years.
